Originally known as ‘Contrology’, Pilates was conceived to rehabilitate wounded soldiers during World War I. Till date, it is still practised as a post-rehab solution, while many do Pilates regularly to prevent injuries.

Reformer Pilates and Mat Pilates both provide similar benefits, however the amount of resistance and tension can be regulated with the use of a reformer.
The resistance created by the pulley and spring system provides a more challenging strength and endurance workout compared to Mat Pilates. As such, it produces quicker results to the arms, legs, abdominal muscles and even for your bum.
The Reformer might look intimidating and daunting, but it is actually a simple piece of exercise equipment. However, the workouts are required to be performed properly, with the correct technique, focus and precision which our instructors will provide you guidance to ensure safe and effective applications.
Pilates can be a positive addition to your overall weight loss plan. As it strengthens, tones and builds muscle mass, it accelerates the body’s metabolic rate, aiding in weight loss (complementing with cardio). With stronger muscles, it metabolises fat more effectively compared to weak muscles. We would recommend doing cardio workouts coupled with strength training (eg: Pilates) and a balanced diet to achieve weight loss healthily.
We offer a variety of classes that suits everyone. If you are new to our studio, we recommend starting with Reformer Core our signature class offers the fundamentals of Reformer Pilates. Complete at least 3 to 5 sessions Reformer Core and we would recommend you to progress forward to next level of classes like Sculpt Reformer, Cardio Reformer, Tower Reformer and Chair Reformer.
You can book a class using BodyLove Pilates studio app from your iPhone App Store or Android Play Store. Once logged in, you will be able to book your classes, manage your account details, view history and even make purchases.
Kindly arrive 10 minutes before your first class to get changed and ready. New clients are required to fill up an Indemnity and Waiver form via BodyLove App when you log into their profile. New clients are required to fill up an e-registration form and disclose any injuries or medical conditions for our acknowledgement. We will then be able to assess your condition and advise on the class suitability or modify the workout to your needs.
We would recommend comfortable or form-fitting clothes that allow our instructors to assess your body alignment. Grip socks are MANDATORY for safety reasons, and are available for sale at our studio.

Our small group classes offer personalized attention with a maximum of 5 to 6 participants. Each individual receives focused guidance and support from our instructors, helping you achieve your fitness goals.
Minimum age for group classes is 17 years old. For clients younger than 17 and elderly clients, we advise going for our Private classes.
*Disclaimer: For clients below 17 years old, parent accompaniment is required for a minor to the first class.
We are open for booking daily for classes 14 days in advance. For example: if you intend to book classes on 1st February, the class will be available for booking on 18th January. Booking window closes 6 hours before the class commences. New schedules for the new month will be release on 25th week of the month.
For individuals with a pre-existing Pilates regimen prior to their pregnancy, we offer specialised Pre-Natal Private Sessions. These are available from the first trimester onward. For those new to Pilates, beginning your practice in your second trimester is advisable for optimal safety. We kindly request that all participants secure a verification from their gynaecologist before commencing any Pilates classes. It is important to note that our prenatal and postnatal programs are exclusively available as private sessions to ensure the highest level of personal attention and safety.
We recommend a postpartum period of 6 to 8 weeks before joining our Reformer Pilates classes. This interval ensures that participants have ample time for initial recovery. We also require a clearance from a healthcare provider to ensure the classes align with your specific postnatal recovery process. Our aim is to provide a supportive and safe environment, hence our prenatal and postnatal offerings are tailored through private sessions rather than group classes, allowing us to fully cater to the unique needs of new mothers.
Our instructors will assess your medical conditions based on your registration form and may ask for a medical certification from your physician if necessary.
We would recommend private classes during your initial stage of recovery, as it allows one-on-one undivided attention and group classes tend to involve a full body workout which may be challenging for the injured client and the instructor.
We know that plans change and in the event if you need to cancel your booking, kindly do so at least 24 hours in advance. You may cancel via our BodyLove app or write in to info@bodylovepilates.sg. If you are unable to cancel your booking within the required time frame, unfortunately there will be a deduction of one (1) class to your account, as we want to give the wait-listers a chance to join as well.

At BodyLove Pilates, we have a firm NO latecomers policy. All students are advised to arrive 10 minutes early before class. Studio doors close when class commences. Unfortunately, your booking will be considered as ‘No Show’ and a class will be deducted the same way as the cancellation policy.
Our class packs are usually valid for 4, 7 and/or 12 months. Expiry dates are strictly enforced, however, remaining sessions will be carried forward should you purchase a new class pack.
Classes within a valid (non-expired) package may be considered for extension only under the following circumstances:
Extensions may be granted when you are medically unfit for exercise or travelling for more than 7 consecutive days.
To be eligible, the following documentation is required:
If approved, your package will be extended only for the verified duration of your medical rest or travel period.
For all other circumstances, a $50 administrative fee will apply for one (1) month of extension, regardless of the number of remaining classes.
3. Promotional, Discounted, or Limited-Time Packages
Packages purchased under any promotion, offer, or limited-time rate are strictly not eligible for extensions, unless supported by valid documentation that meets the criteria stated above.

Of course! Your package entitles you to book into group classes at Upper Thomson Studio.
In the event should we cancel the class, no fees will be charged and your credit will revert to your account. BodyLove Pilates Studio reserves the right to cancel a class due to low registration, inclement weather, instructor illness, or any other reason.
We advocate the cashless systems, and only accept payment through BodyLove Pilates App (powered by Stripe) or PayNow/PayLah. Kindly contact us for our UEN PayNow QR code.
We don’t offer refunds or extensions on any expired package purchases. But under certain circumstances, refunds may be considered on a case-by-case basis with supporting documents. All refunds will be charged a processing fee of $5, which will be deducted from your balance before the refund.
Shelving racks are provided at our studios for personal belongings' storage
Upper Thomson Studio is equipped with toilet/changing room. Unfortunately, towels are not available, kindly bring your own towels.
Water dispenser is available for your complimentary usage while attending classes at our Studio. However, cups are not provided. Please bring along your own water bottle to hydrate yourself.
Grip socks will be available for sale in our studio, if you need one or had forgotten to bring one along!
